Just home from first meeting of the 40th reunion committee. We met upstairs in the new Arts Centre. Its Thursday evening, its dry but its blowing a hooolie...whats new!
Elma, chaired and also in attendance was myself, Murdo Macaulay, Willie Mashie, Alma, Carol, Donna and Rachel.
The date is set - Friday 04th April 2008 in the Legion. We agreed that a Saturday event would be good too and Kenny Killer has apparently volunteered to set up a charity football match on the Saturday afternoon. This seemed like a good idea. It was thought that booking the Crow's Nest in the Legion for after the Match and having an 80's quiz with prizes would be a good event to get people back together again the next day. Paracetamol to be available at door.
The amount of wine to be available free for each table of 12 was also discussed and we thought 1-2 bottles (not glasses) per head might be good. A cost of £30-00 per head was thought to be required to ensure a good time for all.
It was agreed that all excess funds to be given to a local charity.
We agreed to meet again on Wednesday 14th of November.
I gotta go and set up an email address now and get some web space for our 40th reunion website. I think a wee Glenlivet accompanied by the new Foo Fighters album playing in the background should be inspiration enough!!
